My husband and I went to Diego’s for our anniversary this past weekend. We were greeted immediately and sat in a very romantic and unique little room in the back. The service was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the rolls, which we were told were a family recipe. They were delicious! Our entrees were yummy and the portions generous! Their chimichurri sauce is out of this world! We have a new favorite place. Oh, and the malbec from Argentina was wonderful!

A great meal last night and superb service. All around a really great place to eat in the area! The food is generous, flavorful and well prepared. Our server was helpful and enthusiastic and was able to get us set up with a great meal with perfect timing and attention to details that made it a fun pre-valentines weekend dinner very fun and special! Well done folks! Oh, and I asked for rare meat, and it was perfectly cooked for me! I will be back! Soon! ~ James B.

I loved the decor of this place! Mismatched china and silverware, cups and glasses give off a creative, cheerful vibe. The wine and drink list was thoughtful: the apps well planned and the bread rolls, sheer, delicious perfection! I really enjoyed the spicy clam chowder.. I would definitely go back for more appetizers and to try their sandwiches. ~ Moni P.

Amazing food! Such a cultural treat right here in Grass Valley. We always thought it was just Mexican food; boy were we wrong! Can’t wait to come back with friends and try more from their menu. Service was so friendly also.

We do not eat out much for many reasons not the least of which is my intolerance of gluten. We have heard nothing but good about Diego’s. We decided to treat ourselves to a rare date night and chose Diego’s and are so glad we did. Everything we ordered was superb. Staff and owner were all so polite and accommodating. Diego’s is my new favorite restaurant. ~ Dawna J.

My wife and I were in Grass Valley for the Christmas Fair Saturday. As usual, we made reservations for dinner at Diego’s and had our panqueques, this time pork and chicken. We were not disappointed. Accompanying the entree, we had the mushroom soup, a light brothy soup versus the more usual cream-based soup. The soup was flavorful and rich. No complaints. We were particularly pleased with the fact that the food was not overly salted. In fact, I added a bit of salt to my soup, which I usually do not do. The servers were attentive and prompt. A great dinner! ~ Sherwin L.

Amazing food! We went for dinner at the recommendation of a local, and were not disappointed. The decor is engaging, with lots of interesting little touches. The staff was pleasant, attentive, and timely. The prices were not extravagant, but the portions were generous and amazingly flavored. The porkfection panqueque was delightful. They will have you at Bacon. I had the key lime pie for dessert and it was tart and sweet, and one if the best I’ve had. All in all a great experience. ~ Jeremy R.

Tucked away in a leafy green neighborhood of Victorian-style houses in Grass Valley, Diego’s Restaurant is a hidden gem. It takes you on a journey to South America with fresh, delicious food, eclectic decor and a shaded patio with colorful plants. ~ Jeff P.

This is a hidden gem a bit out of town and parking is a little hard to find. The food was amazing and our server was a sweetheart. We started our meal with their garlic cauliflower soup OMG fabulous! I want the recipe! I had the crab chili relleno – so good and packed with sweet crab. My husband had the panqueque especial – so yummy – if you like chorizo this is it! Don’t eat so much you don’t have room for dessert. The key lime pie was yummy and the chocolate bread pudding was death by chocolate! Tender, chocolaty goodness served warm with vanilla ice cream.

Saw this on Yelp, got directions on Yelp and stopped as we were on our way to Downieville. We’re always looking for a new place to try and we’re pretty adventurous we take the reviews seriously and those that are negative we read the details and then we decide for ourselves.

This place is really funky, unique and quaint. I say if you were in the area and you want to try something different and it won’t be a waste of your money because the food is amazing you’ve got to check it out. The place is very clean. Decor like no other! They really know two chairs like, there is writing their out the place it’s really cool all over the walls. Even the restroom is unique.

Diego’s is a great little place with a homey latin vibe. They’re little breads with salsa are so adorable. I had a fish entree for dinner that was fantastic. It came paired with black beans, rice, sauteed peppers, onions, mushrooms and zucchini. My sister had a grilled chicken dish and my dad had what seemed like a wet burrito with pulled pork. Everyone enjoyed their choices and we were pleasantly full by the time our check arrived. The staff was on top of their game with multiple waiters refilling our waters. It’s a great spot for a date or just a casual meal. ~ Jane T.

First time here and it definitely did not disappoint! The service and the food was awesome! Would highly recommend the fish tacos, I’ll be telling everyone I know about them…and Diego’s! ~ Kegan A.

After years of hearing about how good the food was at Diego’s in Grass Valley I finally was able to try it for myself. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Was given a recommendation by our very nice waitress to try the Honey Sriracha Shrimp appetizer and it was the highlight of the meal. Sweet and spicy and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. For dinner I had the salmon wrapped in a delicious basil crepe special. Very unique dish, salmon was high quality and just enough basil in the crepe for it to perfectly compliment the fish. Good food in a well decorated atmosphere with friendly service will make me a repeat customer. Thanks Diego’s. ~ Andrew W.
